Incomplete answers

Not everyone finishes a form in one go. Someone might get distracted, close their browser or leave before submitting their answers.

Updated

OG Forms can save incomplete answers so you can see where respondents stopped and review the information they entered.

How incomplete answers work

When someone starts filling out your form, OG Forms saves their answers as they type.

If they leave without submitting, their answers can still be saved as an incomplete response on the server.

This helps you keep track of people who started your form but did not finish it.

Enable incomplete answers

You can turn on incomplete answer collection for a form.

When enabled, abandoned answers appear in a separate list in your responses. They are marked as incomplete so you can tell them apart from completed submissions.

View incomplete answers

Open your form's responses to review incomplete answers.

You can use the response view to see the answers a respondent entered before leaving the form.

The response view also lets you filter responses by completion status, making it easier to focus on completed or incomplete entries.

How long are incomplete answers kept?

Incomplete answers are kept for 30 days. After that, they are automatically removed.

This gives you time to review unfinished responses without keeping abandoned data forever.

Browser drafts and incomplete answers

OG Forms also saves respondent answers in the browser as they type. If someone reloads the page or their browser crashes, their draft can be restored.

Browser drafts and server side incomplete answers serve different purposes. Browser drafts help respondents recover what they entered. Server side incomplete answers let form owners review abandoned responses when the feature is enabled.
